For this project we were contracted by the Canmet Energy Group at Natural Resources Canada. The main objective was to design and pre-fabricate a rapidly deployable cold-climate building prototype that can be erected without site-installed fasteners or the use of mechanical lifting equipment. Features included an innovative aluminum foundation system, and the use of pre-finished Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) that incorporated vacuum insulation.
- Building designed to facilitate quick assembly, disassembly and relocation
- Foundation for 24’ x 48’ building erected in 2 hours by 2 labourers
- Building completed in 3 days by crew of 4
- Modular in-floor heating system allows for easy removal and reinstallation if building is relocated
